A Goldendoodle’s temperament depends on several things including the temperaments of his parents especially the mother, the amount of socialization he receives, and the genes he inherits. In general, though, Goldendoodles are friendly dogs who are devoted to their families. A well bred Goldendoodle shouldn't be shy or aggressive to people or other animals. They are inclined to be careful around infants or toddlers and can be great playmates for older children. Say no thanks if a puppy or its parents won’t let you approach them, shy away, or growl. Goldendoodles are outgoing, social dogs and often have an uncanny ability to communicate with people. Start training your puppy the day you bring him home. Even at eight weeks old, he is capable of soaking up everything you can teach him. Don’t wait until he is 6 months old to begin training or you will have a more headstrong dog to deal with. If possible, get him into puppy kindergarten class by the time he is 10 to 12 weeks old, and socialize, socialize, socialize. However, be aware that many puppy training classes require certain vaccines like kennel cough to be up to date, and many veterinarians recommend limited exposure to other dogs and public places until puppy vaccines including rabies, distemper and parvovirus have been completed.

On Saying that through, On July 30th I lost one of my standard poodle puppies to Parvo, I did take him to the vet and they thought it was heatstroke, gave him some fluids and said come back tomorrow if he still is not feeling well.

Tehya is doing really well, she's still unsure of him in the house but will happily take him for a walk.

We request that additional information be given to those who purchase Golden Retrievers about the overall health and longevity of the breed. We expect every breeder to support genetic research not only in doing the four major clearances but also by contributing to a DNA databank available to researchers. The Golden Retriever Club of America is responsible for collecting DNA on over 1000 of our current dogs along with a detailed health profile. There is no such pool of available information on cross bred animals. The Golden Retriever Club of America also works with the Morris Animal Foundation and The Canine Health Foundation in providing support and samples for vital research in genetics and health. We have never seen a grant application for the health of the Golden doodle.
